As my tagline says, I am a scientist, writer, and musician.
As a scientist, I am interested in complex systems. I am fascinated by how complicated behaviors can emerge from the simple interactions of many individuals. I am also interested in how machine learning can be used to help us better understand the world around us. I enjoy programming and using computers to model complex systems.
As a writer, I am interested in science fiction. I believe that science fiction gives us an interesting platform to experiment with the world around us. I am particularly interested in the human experience with technology and how technology affects our place in the world, both perceived and real.
As a musician, I am interested in telling stories with song. That said, I also enjoy writing instrumentals. My favorite genres are rock and blues. I play guitar, bass, and harmonica.
